Lynn is a contemporary realist painter working with her perception. Our perception is how we experience the world. Lynn paints from observation, often en plein air. En plein air is a French term that means painting outside. Lynn’s also an Awareness Facilitator and uses mindfulness practices to deepen our experiences in nature. In this course Lynn has woven together process oriented awareness practices with foundational instruction on landscape painting. This is an opportunity to study nature through your senses. We will be drawing and painting outdoors in the beautiful grounds of Jetty Farm, in Hindmarsh Valley (1 hour South of Adelaide). We will also get to enjoy flavourful vegetarian food prepared with produce from local farms & makers.
Our painting focus will be on understanding tone and simplifying our subject into related shapes. Tone and shape are the basis of all painting and are especially important in plein air painting. Nature is full of so much information and the experience can be confusing. Through awareness practices we will get to the essence of what our subject is, while an understanding of tone and shape will help us to express this essence through a clear design.
You will receive:
A new or deeper way to engage with you’re environment through your senses.
An understanding of how to simplify nature and design a landscape painting.
An experience of plein air painting.
An opportunity to connect with your deeper self.
A sense of well-being and nourishment from the earth and through food lovingly put together.
