FLEETING LANDSCAPES, TREASURED SOULS EXHIBITION
I’m thrilled to be having this exhibition with wildlife painter Brooke Walker at HUGO WINES. I’d love it if you could make it to our opening. Our exhibition runs until mid February.
I find it’s also always a treat to return to an exhibition after an opening and take in the paintings in a more contemplative manner. Liz, Will or Carol at the cellar door are sure to look after you with a wine tasting. Hugo wines have been winning some well deserved awards lately.
My landscape paintings are all views of the Fleurieu Peninsula captured over the seasons. Some small pieces are painted en plein air. Other larger works are painted over time in my studio from plein air studies, memory and photographs. Painting outside is where I feel most alive, putting fleeting experiences into paint. I’m excited to be sharing something of this adventure with you.
Brooke’s paintings are highly detailed works. Our fellow creatures that we share our environment with are carefully observed and lovingly rendered, but always with a twist. I feel Brooke captures a poignant, political voice of these creatures in her paintings. Listening to the world we live in is crucial to our survival.
Hope to see you at our opening. Come up and say ‘Hi’.
